Journal of Titian Ramsay Peale [manuscript] 1824 November-1825 April.

The journal records Peale's activities as the Florida agent of Charles Bonaparte for the collecting and painting of birds for Bonaparte's American ornithology. He describes the voyage South, natural scenery and people of Florida, hunting and fishing, birds collected, and deaths from yellow fever. A sketch of the head of a Florida Keys bird is included, as is a list of expenses for the journey. Accompanying the journal are two clippings from 1933, one of which concerns Peale descendant Helen Peale.
